Harambee Tree Planting on Saturday October 19th.

Well the trees are all planted! Thanks to Open Lands, Tree Keepers and all gardeners and volunteers who came out to help. There is a total of 25 Oak, Sour Gum, Pecan and Kentucky Coffee trees. We now have the obligation to maintain these trees, first through the coming Winter, and then until Open Lands returns in three years for trimming, etc. I have agreed to lead our efforts. We will need to supply supplementary watering whenever the weekly rainfall is less than one inch in a single rain event until the trees go dormant. It appears that this week will be short of the needed rain. Therefore, I will be at the Garden at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 26 to start the watering and would welcome all help to complete this task as early as possible. Please let me know by return email if you will be able to help. We will be using the existing water sources and five gallon buckets to transport water to the trees. Until then, HAPPY GARDENING HARAMBEE!
